You’ve tried so many different diets, spent a fortune on supplements and tests. Nothing seems to make any difference.
You’re overwhelmed by all the ‘gut health’, ‘immune support’ and ‘detoxification’ information out there. It’s so hard to work out what’s really the right thing to do.
You often get a “foggy-head”. You find yourself searching for the words during conversation. Sometimes you can’t remember how you got to places and need to make list after list to remind yourself of what you need to do.
You find it so hard to study and concentrate because you’re so tired, with little energy! The fatigue negatively impacts so many elements of your life.
After numerous tests, repeated visits to Specialists, great expense, you or someone you love now has a diagnosis. What does the diagnosis really mean? What are the drivers behind the diagnosis? What is creating the inflammatory responses? Foods, moulds, heavy metals, oxalates, yeasts, a chaotic immune system, bacteria, parasites? What about the emotional component? You want to do everything you can to help, however have no idea where to begin.
I could no longer tolerate certain foods. I was incredibly bloated after eating. My bowel movements swung from between constipation and loose stools. My head was ridiculously foggy. I would no longer concentrate for long periods of time. On top of this, I endured debilitating bouts of vertigo, with increasing frequency.
Despite trying supplement after supplement, I saw no sign of improvement. I began removing some foods in an attempt to find out what was causing these issues and still nothing seemed to be making a significant difference, and my health continued to deteriorate.
I then stumbled across a GAPS webinar, which made so much sense to me. I started following the GAPS Protocol and before long my symptoms started to diminish, with some disappearing from the time I started on the GAPS Protocol.
I still remember the first time I sat down to have soup made from a base of chicken stock. It felt deeply nourishing. I knew this was just what my body and my mind needed.
Today I follow a blend of the GAPS Protocol and Paleo Diet, enjoying a lower carb and higher good fat regime.
Years ago, someone once said to me that from my post-marriage experiences, my greatest learning would come. Since regaining my health and being able to assist others to do the same, I realise this is absolutely right. If I had not been so unwell, I would not have found the GAPS Protocol, I would not be enjoying the level of health I have today, and I certainly would not have met so many inspirational people.
